We are going to Italy in the fall and would like to stay in Vernazza for a few days. Can anybody suggest a good apartment to rent? 2 adults, 2 12 y/o girls. Any other info on the area would also be appreciated!
Leah
Hi Leah,
I am afraid I cannot help with Vernazza, but in the Cinque Terre I would recommend that you generally keep your options open. If you find something that works in one town, consider taking it.
That being said, I had a great room in Riomaggiore through Mar Mar, which was recommended to me on this site.
thank you both! I have been told that it is best to keep your options open in the CT, I'm such a planner, that it's hard to not have something lined up! I did find a little hotel right on the square and I might look into that too. Again thanks to you both.
The Hostel in Manarola, Ostello 5, has nice, clean family rooms with 4 bunkbeds, great views, meals and rates.
I just booked our family of 5 into room #7 at francamaria.com. Great location in Vernazza - see pictures of the room on their web site.
This is the link to the apartment we are renting this summer for our family of 4. It's in Vernazza, and the people have been easy to deal with. We won't know about the quality until we get there, but it may give you somewhere to begin. You can access the other apartments through the menu on the left of the page.

P.S.
My husband and I stayed in Manarola a few years ago. We looked into the hostel and it seemed very nice, but they had a lock out time during the day that was not convenient for us. I think it was something like 10-5. Just something to consider.
We used this web site : http://www.acasa5terre.it/houses.html to book the Manuela 1 apartment. It was small, but would work well for a family like yours. You walk into the room with the twin beds, the bedroom is to your right and a small kitchen and bathroom is to your left. Don't miss the part where I said it was small :)
