Apartments in Venice/Florence/Rome

I will be traveling to Italy for the first time in October. The group consists of a couple and two single females (a double room and two twins). We will be staying in each place for 3 nights. I will be staying on in Rome for 2 additional nights but will probably just try a convent. We want to stay in apartments as we feel this is a more practical solution for us. Have been searching on AirBnB, VRBO and Booking. Is there anyplace else I should be looking at? Any other suggestions will be gladly taken.

VRBO, Homeaway, Homelidays, Casamundo, etc.are all good websites for apartments.
Renting apartments for a bigger group has pros: cheaper than renting two rooms, possibility of cooking at home, more space, more freedom.
But it also has cons: checking in and out process takes longer (the landlord and agency comes and explains how things work and when you check out you need to clean up), also there is nobody that comes and cleans your room, so you have to waste some time every day to make your own bed and clean the bathroom yourself.
A big group staying for several days is definitely better off with an apartment. For 3 nights only (so basically just 2 full days) one has to weigh in the pros against the cons represented mainly by the precious time lost and taken away from visiting the sights.

I'm using this place in Venice next month. It would sleep you all...it has two bedrooms and the second bedroom has two twins, I believe. http://www.thevenetianterrace.com. Has an altana(rooftop balcony) and a canal view.

I've stayed in this apartment a few years back. It also has two bedrooms...I think there were twins in the second bedroom. Very nice unit. No balcony, though, and not on a canal. https://www.vrbo.com/392618
