Has anyone ever used an apartment rental service in Rome? If so, could you give some feedback on your experiences? Trying to decide between renting an apartment for 4 nights, or a hotel. The thing I feel that I'd be trading with an apartment is the availability of staff at a hotel who can help with recommendations, directions, etc. Input? Thanks.

we haven't taken our trip yet, so i can't speak of the accomodations but we used http://www.leisureinrome.com/ to book an apartment for 5 nights and they were very helpful. this is my first time to rome so i asked many questions about which neighborhood we should stay in and they were happy to give their point of view.

I used VRBO.com to rent apartments in Florence and Rome. We loved having the extra space and also having a washer! For 4 of us, it was cheaper than a quad room in a hotel. And we saved money by making our own breakfasts.

Rome isn't that big...just do your homework before you go and take your own list of recommendations...
