Has anyone rented an apartment in Florence before? My gf and I want to do this, however we are unsure where to start. Anyone have some good experiences? Bad experiences? I would like to know who to actually trust in renting.

I stayed here a few years ago at the Domus apartment: http://www.residenzailcarmine.com/e_5.htm Very roomy and a nice walk to the tourist attractions and train stations.

I just checked the apartment listing on Cross-Pollinate.com and there are 49 in Florence. Go to the website and type in your requirements for florence and you can view photos, reviews and descriptions. I have stayed in a number of their apartments and B&B's and have been very pleased with them. The owners of C-P own the Beehive hostel in Rome. They are very responsive to questions. An American couple who have lived in Rome for years.
