Apartments in Florence and Rome

We will be in Florence and Rome in early October for 7 days each. We would like accommodations that have a small kitchenette for breakfast and snacks. Any suggestions?

Try vrbo.com. It's Vacation Rentals by Owner. We've had very good luck with them and will be staying in one in Venice in the fall. Particularly try number 33401 in Florence, with spectacular view of the Duomo from deck.

We are going to be in Rome the last weekof June this summer and are staying at Palazzo Olivia, very near Piazza Navona. I don't know whether it's what you're looking for but you can check it out. The website is http://www.palazzo-olivia.it/ We'll know more after our stay of course.

I second the vote for Palazzo Olivia. Stayed there last October, returning this year. Very convenient location, has a tiny kitchen which is perfect for breakfast and snacks.

We have stayed a several apartments in Florence. The best was two blocks (we spent a week there last summer) from the duomo, reasonably priced, near the Mercato Centrale, and has modern kitchen and bathroom. See to believe: http://www.residenzarondinelli.it/eng/apartment2+2.php BTW, two blocks north from this apartment is a street of foreign food takeout restaurants, and there's a small deli on the first floor of the Mercato.

Hi: You can't do better - for location, price, accommodation, and helpful owner - than the Palazzo Alfani al David, which is literally across the street from the Accademia and a 10-minute walk from the Duomo. Check out the reviews on Tripadvisor. We absolutely loved our stay in our apartment, the San Marco. Huge apartment, full kitchenette (including sodas, coffee, and snacks), magnificent bathroom, high ceilings, fresco on the ceiling in the bedroom. Fantastic!

We are renting an apartment in Florence later this summer using VRBO. It's #160615 and it's on Via Calzaiuoli just a block from the Duomo. It's our first time to Florence and we are wondering if anyone has stayed here before or rented one of the other 10 apartments that this owner has on VRBO. We've had really great experiences with other VRBO rentals in Paris, HI and CA so we are not new to apartment rental stays.
Thanks Beth

Check out #336305 on vrbo.com I've rented from this lady before and everything went well. It costs less than most hotels.
