Apartment rentals in Florence

Any suggestions on a two bedroom apartment to rent (two weeks) in Florence?

Hi, Ive rented an AirBnb apartment in Florence for 9 days in Mid May. AirBnb is a great source for these. Below is the link to the apartment I rented, but there are many. Of course the higher the price the more there are available. The more economical ones seem to go first.

Good Luck

My go-to is always VRBO.com but a little-used site you might also try is www.SabbaticalHomes.com. These are rentals by people away on sabbatical, for the most part, and can be fairly reasonable in price. Also, when I am renting from VRBO for more than one week, I ask the owner for a discounted rate since they won't have to pay for cleaning every 3-or-4 days, reduced laundry, reduced turnover.

Not sure if two weeks are available, you'll need to book that far in-advance.

We recently stayed here and it was fantastic, right above two of the best restaurants in Florence and within easy walking distance of most sites.

Not to be a buzz kill, but I can't imagine staying in Florence that long. So many amazing sights, but not a charming city...at all. Noisy and traffic, no culture. Great for one of two nights and or day trips. Sorry, don't mean to be discouraging, but we were so disaapointed. Florence was top of our list...instead, we loved Venice and the town of Orvieto, and Rome which is suprisingly magical. Would spend more time in the hillside towns if we were going to do it all over. We avoided buses based on reviews, but the one bus we took from Sienna to Orvierto was incredible. Otherwise, took trains and they are great, but not as scenic.

For an apt in Firenze check out Windows on Italy. We are renting with them for a month stay in March 2018 in the Oltrarno area. Our friends have rented apartments with Windows on Italy numerous times and highly recommend them.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, however Florence is constantly rated among the most charming cities in the world. There is little or no traffic in the historical center because cars are not permitted except for emergency vehicles and residents with permit.
Most tourists visiting Florence spend at least two days but many stay longer because Florence is an excellent base to visit other towns in Tuscany.
It also takes a large amount of ignorance to say that there is no culture in Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and the seat of numerous cultural institutions.
Two weeks aren't enough to visit everything there is to see in Florence and surrounding areas.

I think 2 weeks in an apartment in Florence would be heavenly. Our second visit there we stayed for 9 days and it was wonderful. There is much to explore outside of the central core, not to mention the benefits of a more leisurely stay. I look forward to hearing if it worked out for you in an apartment as I would love to do that for our 3rd visit. Enjoy!

I have stayed for two weeks in Florence, and had 7 trips there, and recommend it.
It's very central for taking day trips, or overnight trips to lots of varied places.
Don't be discouraged.
Just don't book an apartment anywhere near the Duomo, as it is too noisy 24/7.
Go for one across the river:out a bit, not right beside Santo Spirito or the Pitti Palace area: also noisy.
Or perhaps Fortezza de Basso or Piazza Liberta areas; just slightly outside the heavily touristed areas.
I'm envious!

Agree w/Roberto & Claire!!!

We stayed in an incredibly charming apartment in the Oltrarno district in Florence. (The "other" side of the river.) It's a little quieter and less hectic than the center of Florence, though in walking distance to everything in the city. The apartment is Residenza Il Carmine. The smaller apartments form a square w/a gorgeous garden in the middle. (Think pomegranate trees and blooming flowers.) On the other side of the back wall of the square, is the Chiesa di Santa Maria Carmine. From the garden, you look up to the church's bell tower, and hear the bells chime. The front part of the square is the main building. In the main building, there's an incredibly large bottom floor apartment. Two bedrooms/two baths, huge dining room and a full kitchen w/French doors that open to the garden. (Which also has a table and chair set that seats 4-6.) The apartments are hosted by an older gentleman, Emilio, and his wife, who are absolutely charming. Within blocks of the apartments are a grocery store, pharmacy, bakery, café, deli, and numerous outstanding restaurants, plus a square where markets are held.

If we're ever fortunate enough to return to Florence, I hope it's for at least 2 weeks, and that we will stay at Residenza Carmine.
