My husband, 3 year old son & I hope to rent an apartment in Padua, preferably in Altichiero (just outside of Padua) but not essential. I prefer an apartment as opposed to a hotel. I enjoy the freedom of an apartment and enjoy cooking with local produce. Any suggestions or contacts. Thank you.

I can't give you any personal experience here, but I typed in "vacation rental" "apartment" "padova" in my search bar and came up with several hits. I see you are in Australia; you may not get the same hits I did. If not, send a private message so I'm alerted and I'll send you some links from here.
I wanted to see Padua also; my friend got his PhD in electrical engineering at the Univ of Padova and it AMAZED me that he was walking the same halls as Galileo and Copernicus did! After reading about Padua in Rick's book, I really wanted to see it! but it must be saved for another time... have a great visit! =-)
