Apartment in Venice, Sept

We will be in Venice 4 nights in Sept-. I have reservations, but on looking more closely at the map, we will be taking the vaporetto along the back side of Venice, and taking a good walk to our hotel. We will be about in the middle of Venice, near the Hospital.
Now I am looking to find a new apartment, but of course, just after the Venice Film Festival, it is becoming more difficult. Can anyone suggest an apartment rather close to the Rialto Bridge area? I am going with my adult son so need a bedroom and a sofa bed in the sitting area.
I have been sitting at this comp, looking for ages and getting desperate, too many signs, none available.
thn. This board has some great posts...

According to their website, this apartment is available for four nights beginning Sept. 12:

It may be larger than you want (2 Bdr.) but the location is great. We rented the top floor apartment in the same building from this company (Venice Red House) for a month last year. It is right on Campo San Lio if you want the exact location.

The apartment is also listed on Air B and B and Tripadvisor, with lots of reviews.

Our favorite is near Rialto Bridge, non-tourist street and no bridges from Rialto Mercato stop, Gran Canal Apartment. The owner has other apartments too,k which he may offer to you.

Speculating, since I don't know the specific location: If it's "a good walk" from the "backside" vaporetto stops to your reserved hotel, maybe the walk would not much longer from vaporetto stops on the Grand Canal/San Marco side, giving you options.

My family of 4 is renting an apartment from Views on Venice in July and so far the service from that company has been absolutely stellar and the apartments they represent look very nice. I'm not sure how wedded you are to the area near the Rialto Bridge? Nothing wrong with that area at all, but after 6 trips to Venice, we much prefer to stay in a more residential area - Dosoduro is our favorite. Still a very easy walk to everything you want to see but more local markets and much quieter! There really is no BAD area to stay IN Venice and nothing is very far from anything else.
Good Luck! Sounds like a lovely Mom/Son trip.
