my hubby & I are going to Rome for 2 weeks in May and we are looking at apts in the Via Appia Nuova area. Specifically near the Tuscolana rail station and the Furio Camillo metro station. Has anyone stayed in the area? Any good/bad experiences?

The area is nice, and very safe. I actually lived there for many years. As you walk along the Appia Nuova (in both directions, but especially towards the center) there is great shopping to be found as well.

Thanks for the info. there are so many apts in Rome!! I am also looking at the Re di Roma area...
