APARTMENT IN ROME and VENICE

Hi! Has anyone tried SleepinItaly.com. Do they have good apartments?
What is the best area in Rome? We are family of 7 with kids an d senior citizen. Would you suggest Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, Transvetere or Vatican area? In Venice, is San Marco area apartment good ? Thanks Jane

You've picked several good areas for Rome, although I would put the Vatican area as being the least desirable of those, unless you plan on spending a lot of time visiting the Vatican. Does anyone in your group have any problems walking on cobblestones? If so, you'll want to stay near a place with convenient access to the places you want to visit. In that case, I would suggest Navona/Fiori. Trastevere (pronounced like "Trust Avery") is a charming lively neighborhood, but it puts you farther away from the main sights. Are you planning on using mass transit a lot? If so, you might want to stay near Largo Torre Argentina, which is a mass transit hub.
