Our family of 5 (2 adults + 3 young adult children - 25, 23, 20) are looking for a rental in Trastevere between Jan 1 and Jan 9. We have been searching vrbo and rome sweet rome and trip advisor but keep coming up with "not available for those dates". Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Check out the apartment rental reviews on SlowTrav. It's not easy to find a place that sleeps 5, let alone at that time of year.

You might also try www.airbnb.com. I ran a search for 3 BR in Trastevere for your dates and got 12 hits.
