My wife and I will be stopping in Messina for one day on a Mediterranean cruise in May. Any recommendations of what we should do there?

I haven't spent any time there myself (just arrived at the ferry dock and then left from there) but this website will give you an idea of what's there to see. Looks like there are some interesting things to see that could fill a day.
