I did try the search box on the site but did not find a lot of information. This will be my first year attending the regatta. If anyone has experiences to share, I'd like to hear them!

We saw it in 2003. You'll want to stake out your viewing location early, because it is VERY popular with the locals. It starts off with the parade of historic boats then is followed by the gondola races. One local told us that the first part is for the tourists, and the second part is for the locals. It's very cool, but there aren't very many good places to view it, since it takes place along the Grand Canal. Ask the place where you're staying if they can recommend a place to watch it.
