Anyone with recent experience at Albergo Milano?

Hi, in the show on Milan & the lakes, RS recommends Albergo Milano in Ravenna. It looks great and RS makes it sound great. Does anyone have I was not able to find booking directly on the web, only the online request form. Does that sound rght? Anyone know if they are online at all? I read that they shut down in the winter, which I guess is understandable. Trip is still in the early planning stage and we are open to spring, summer or fall. Once we get Lake Como figured out, it will probably be easier to add in bigger cities like Milan, Venice, and any number of other places.

Thanks.

Steve

We stayed there last September and it was perfect. We walked from the train station and the ferry stop is also very convenient. Whenever you get your dates book quickly. Yes, they shut down in the winter but you can fill out an inquiry form on their website.

Our most recent experience was September of 2016. You do book using the request form on their website. They will get back to you quickly.

We like the top-floor room in Casa Rossa, a separate building close by. It is large, filled with light, has a kitchen corner, and a large terrace overlooking the lake. But you must ascend four flights of stairs to get there.

Its a family run place so they don't have a staff to monitor all the time. Its worth it to ask for a room with a terrace (overlooking the lake).

Albergo Milano in Ravenna

I guess you meant to write Varenna. If so, you must contact AM directly to inquire about availability and reservations.

steve,

I have the same question as NYC Travel - are you referring to Varenna on Lago di Como? Ravenna is on the east coast south of Venice, and I couldn't find "Albergo Milano" listed there.

If you're referring to the Albergo Milano in Varenna, it gets consistently good reviews and also has an excellent restaurant. It would be a good idea to contact them well in advance of your trip, as they're very popular.

Sorry for the confusion, and the delay. Threw my back out and have been playing wth Dr.s for a couple of weeks.
Yes, I meant Varenna on Lake Como. Nothing against Ravenna. I hope to get there someday too.

I highly recommend Albergo Milano. Wonderful food and amazing views from the terrace rooms. Stayed there 4 years ago. Would definitely stay again.
