anyone used vayama before?

I found the best deal on vayama, but I have never used them before. It says that if I don't like the trip, I have one hour to cancel.

It is $1100 to fly into London from Houston and fly back to Houston out of Rome in June. Too good to be true?

We used Vayama to book a flight from San Francisco to Paris, with a return from Rome to SFO. Watched prices for about 6 weeks and finally selected Vayama because they were ALWAYS the least expensive. ($968 round trip). They would not tell us which airline until after we booked, just that it would be a "major" airline. It was British Air. Only problem was seat assignments. Vayama did not do this so we had to go to British Air. They wanted to charge us $45 per person each direction to pick seats. We'll take our chances.

I used them for my last trip to Italy. They were OK but I wouldn't go out of my way to use them again. They failed to notify me when the flight times changed (so that the 2nd leg departed before the first flight landed!) and I opted to just contact the airline directly instead of working through the middleman, at which point they basically threw their hands up and said, fine you're on your own.

As long as nothing goes awry and you don't have special requirements on your itinerary, you will probably be fine. If you are particular about the airline, seat assignments, etc., then you might want to think twice.

In response to all the inquiries about vayama, as the Customer Relations Manager for the company, I'd like to provide a few key points about vayama that differentiates us from other internet travel companies:
What makes vayama different from all the other travel sites on the web?
• Vayama focuses only on international travel, so we know the right airlines and prices to get you abroad
• Vayama has direct discounts negotiated with over 75 airlines
• Vayama has "deals" that aren't available with other websites and travel agents
• Vayama has one of the most advanced travel websites out there, making shopping and buying a breeze!

Some of our lowest fares are referenced as "vayama special fares". Due to contract agreements with the airlines providing these low prices through vayama, we are unable to display the specific name of the airline and associated departure and arrival times are not displayed until AFTER the booking is completed. Understanding can be of concern to our customers, we offer our "vayama satisfaction guarantee". If the airline and/or flight times don't meet with your needs, you can cancel within one hour of booking and receive a full refund.

In addition to "vayama special fares", we offer 100s of other low price options where the complete flight details are provided within the availability display following a search.

We understand there are many options available to the traveling public when it comes to purchasing international travel. If you are considering booking through vayama, I offer this closing comment. When you book through vayama and after the fact have any questions or concerns, send an email to [email protected]. Only myself and another Customer Service Manager will receive email to this account. As a result, I can promise you will get a prompt, educated, informative response from either one of us. And if there is an issue, we will do all we can to resolve the problem within the rules of ticket(s) purchased. David

I used them last year to book a direct flight from Miami to Rome on Alitalia. I had no problems and it was the best fare.
