Anyone stayed in Paola? (Train Rome towards Sicily)

We are thinking of taking the train from Rome to Messina and noticed the train stops in Paola. Wondering if Paola is a good place to visit/stay. Or if there’s another stop along the way that is recommended. Thank you.
