I'm arriving by train from Florence to Termini station at 10:35 pm. I have a hotel booked at the airport this night to accommodate my morning flight back to the states. The last Leonardo express train leaves at exactly 10:35 pm. I've read this track is out of the way, so I'm assuming I can't reasonably make this train, even if I hustle. I'm wondering if taxis are always outside this train station, or if I could find them difficult to come by in the later evening? Am I better off cancelling this reservation and booking something near Termini? Or are there still good options to get to the airport at this time? Thanks!

You xcan easily take a cab from the front of Termini. Go to the official line (there's a sign) and do not let anyone drag you off to another "line" as they will rip you off. The flat rate is Euro 48.00, although they may add on a Euro for each bag.
I would normally say you should spend you last night enjoying the city, but a 10:30 PM arrival won't allow much of an evening. Do check in advance with your airport-area hotel on available shuttles and how to arrange one for the airport in the morning. Sometimes they do not leave as early as you might need one.

The Leonardo Express track is not remote (but it was until a few years ago), and Termini tracks are on the same level with no stairs to change tracks, but you may be better off taking a taxi. Laurel's directions are good.
