Would love an update on heat wave and fires in Italy. Heading there in a week (hopefully) and wondered how it might be affecting travel. Thanks for your help!
Are u going to Sicily? If not you can forget about fires.
Can't speak for the all country but here in the River Po valley we have bee enjoying 84° F for a week.
Thanks you, appreciate the update. :)
I have a friend near Pescara and she encountered a fire during a walk in Pineta Dannunziana yesterday.
New reports of fire outbreaks in Calabria, not far from the city of Reggio Calabria. Two farmers died while they were trying to save their Olive Trees.
Dario,
Do you know how hot and humid it is in Venice right now? I will be there 8/25-9/03. Soon, in other words.
No idea, but these guys seem to know it:

The Italian worlds for humidity and temperature are quite obvious: umidità and temperatura.
I can't speak for the fires but it's pretty hot in Ischia right now. Not unbearable but not ideal for just wandering aimlessly either.
Thanks, Dario. I also looked up the two week forecast for Venice on timeanddate.com.
