We get in on the 3rd Sunday of the month and want to rush to try to get toLucca before it closes at 3. Has anyone been? I'd love to hear what it is like from someone who has been.
The market is spread out among several different piazzas. I remember it being mostly furniture. I've been to markets all over Europe and think this is the only one I've left empty handed! Maybe you will be luckier. I think Sienna's is also on the 3rd Sunday. It's near the main piazza and has mostly smalls. I found a lovely piece of Murano glass for 20 euro in Oct.
We were in Lucca in May 2008 and found the antique market to be mostly junk, but then I'm not a big fan of flea markets (which is definitely what it felt like to us).
Well darn...when all the travel books said Lucca hosts the biggest antique market I was all excited. Guess we won't rush then. Thanks! :)
