We are investigating spending a few nights in Porto Recanati on the Adriatic coast south of Ancona. Would love any information about the town and area. We have been to Pesaro and Senigallia and love the Adriatic coast.

I stopped by Porto Recanati when I spent a few days in the Conero area and wasn't particularly impressed. Sirolo and Numana in the Conero area are much prettier but if you want plenty of beach space and somewhere on the flat Porto Recanati is probably better. You can get a look at what it's like on Google maps. Interesting villages and towns nearby: Loreto and the sanctuary, Recanati, Osimo, Offagna, Ancona itself, Iesi, Sirolo, Numana, Parco del Conero and only an hour and a half to Gubbio.
