Any troubles using eMed.com for antigen test going to Italy (and home to USA)?

I have ordered antigen tests for my family through eMed.com to use both before we board our flight to Italy (Lufthansa, layover in Frankfurt) and to use before we fly home. It looks pretty straight forward, with online oversight of the testing and confirmation of results available either as pdf or on app. Has anyone else used this company, and did it go well? Just want to be sure we don't run into any last minute issues, especially since we will have to test on New Years Day before flying home (so local testing may be harder to come by). thx.

Lots of reports on the forum of people who have used these tests successfully. It seems to work for most people.

There was one poster who was extremely unhappy and angry. She did not download the Navica app prior to going to Europe and faced challenges trying to download it for her return. You could eliminate this issue by simply downloading the app. The only other story I have heard where there was an issue was a test kit that was missing the reagent used in testing. Fortunately, those people had an extra test kit and were able to open it and use the reagent in it. My take away was make sure to download the app and have one extra test kit , "just in case."

@Carol now retired -- thank you!! I already downloaded the app, and I ordered extras. Should be good to go.

Are you staying in a hotel or an apartment? I ask because the apartment we stayed in Venice did not have a very good wi fi connection which would have been problematic. There was no way we could have known that ahead of time. I would want to be staying in a hotel.

JJ, we used eMed’s monitored antigen test in September when we returned from Switzerland. It was such a convenient way to do the required test before our flight home. With a negative test result now required within 24 hours of returning, you’ll be glad to have the monitored kits:
Tips: each person testing needs to download the app. Strong WiFi would help. You might want to view the video demonstrating how to do the test. We also had our hotel print a copy for each of us.
We didn’t have any problems and our “wait” time was only 5 minutes each. I read on the forum that someone’s “bottle” was empty, so they were told to use the leftover drops from the other person’s bottle.
Since there were only 2 of us, and we ordered the 6-test kit, we hand-carried 4 with us… just in case. But we didn’t need the extras.
Enjoy your trip.

We used the kits for outbound as well as return. That way we got to know the process (simple really) while at home. And having tests with us made the 1 day return test easy.

Testing before leaving USA: Since we purchased 6 tests for 2 people. We decided to do the monitored test before we left home; to find out if we had COVID before heading to Europe, as well as to familiarize ourselves with the procedure. And, yes, the results are emailed to you as soon as the the test is complete.
One thing I did learn when I did the test at-home. I was using wireless earbuds to communicate, and when the timer was set for 15 minutes, I walked away from my phone, thinking the proctor would inform me when my time was up. It doesn't work that way. It was up to me to return to my phone and notify them when my time was up.

You may want to check Lufthansa's website to see if they have a recommended test. This could ease passage once at the airport. Plan on having pens handy to fill out forms when returning. You can download in advance and fill out as well then present when you are at the airport (for return flight).
