I'm interested in hiring a driver for a day to drive me out of Rome to my next destination with a stop along the way (if I did it on my own with trains/buses, it would waste a large chunk of the day, plus I'll have luggage with me, etc.). Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced driver that you have had a good experience with? Thanks for your suggestions.
Depending where your next destination is, this can get expensive as you do have to pay for the round trip since the driver has to return to Rome.
People say good things about the company Rome Cabs, or you could try www.limoserviceitalia.it.
We were in Rome at the end of March/early April. We hired a driver to take us from Rome to Perugia with a stop in Assisi.
I found several companies through google, but ended up going with the one recommended in Rick's book. (You do have Rick's book, don't you?)
Pricing on them was fairly consistent, but Ezio Monti was also among the least expensive--not that it was cheap.
We'd recommend him, and would use him again.
Best regards,
