Any recs for arrival time to Florence?

I realize this is a personal preference question, but looking for opinions.

We will be in Rome for four days and then headed to Florence for two days. Any opinions about optimal times to take train from Rome to Florence? Early vs. late morning? We will only be in Florence for two days and arrive on a Saturday.

JMO, but what advantage would there be to wasting part of a day when your time in Florence is already limited? Unless there is a compelling early morning activity that you really want to do before leaving Rome, I'd want to catch an early train and maximize my time in Florence. You likely won't be able to get into your hotel room in Florence that early, but you should be able to drop off your bags before heading out. But that's just my view.

If you've only 2 days to spend in Florence, I'd get there as early as possible to take advantage of the short time that you have. If you've booked a hotel, most will store your luggage until check-in time.

You'll also want to purchase advance tickets to the most-visited attractions, Tickets for the Uffizi and Accademia will be on a timed-entry basis.

I like to travel after I've had breakfast in the hotel in my departure city, since I've paid for it. I also don't like to arrive in the new city too early, as my room may not have been serviced yet. I will leave my luggage at the front desk if necessary but I prefer to check in right away. If I arrive in the new city at about 14:00, that still allows some time for touring after I check in.
