Any recommended Venice Hotels or Hostels for the budget student traveller?

Anyone recommend a cheap hotel or hostel (under 90E) in Venice that's centrally located that can accommodate 4 travelers (2 couples so 2 beds though)? They're hard to comeby. Thanks for any responses.

If you mean under 90E for all four people, that will be a bit difficult. I recommend that you try the hostels.com website as they have very good reviews of all the different places. You might have to settle for something out in the Lido, but it is a quick hop in via the water bus from there.

hi michael
i am too planning to go to venice next october. looking around have found these websites for places to stay. i have found these for you to explore.
freereservation.com and cross-pollinate.com
make sure you put venice in as the place and your dates. also look at area cuz you will need to walk with your luggage. another thing to look for is what floor you are on and how many stairs you have to climb, no elevator? we are also interested in a washer so looked for that, dont know how far laundermat is. good luck on your search.

"budget" and "Venice" .. they don't go together.

Venice is like a super rich chocolate,, not everyone can afford to consume more then a bite,, so if you are a person who is on a tighter "diet"( budget) then cut time there to only a night or two, which will allow you a great budget per night.

Good luck. ( Ps. unless you can get into a hostel, you may find two rooms much easier to deal with then trying to get a quad room, the hotel rooms are SMALL, and most do not have room for 4 people!)

I have done a lot of research on budget hotels, etc. for my trip in september. For that budget, you won't find anything decent in Venice. You should try the landside town of Mestre, very close to Venice. you can still get to venice cheaply by bus to Piazzale Roma, then walk or jump on vaperettos from there.

Being near Venice is not the same as being in Venice...sort of like kissing your sister.
