Looking for some local clubs to check out during our trip to Rome or Florence. We are in our 50s so not really looking for dance or techno clubs but rather clubs with live entertainment or maybe even cabaret.
We went to Big Mama's in Trastavere. It is a live entertainment venue with a lot of local bands. The night we went, they played alot of classic American rock and roll. IIRC, that was ALL they played. Everyone is seated at a table so no dancing unless you want to get up and cut a rug on your own :) We pre-reserved our table online. It was a good time! http://www.bigmama.it/
So is going to a place in Italy where the music is American rock and roll your dream?
Hi Norma, the evening I went the band played American rock n roll. There are other acts the OP can check out in the link I provided if he/she wants. We live in a big city with lots of live entertainment and we had fun. Different strokes for different folks.
Looks like a fun place Jackie, not sure the kind of music is going to matter much as long as we're mixing with locals and having a good time....which is my dream..Ciao
In my old days there was a jazz club near the Pergola theater, around borgo pinti.. Google it it's probably still there. The Maracana is a famous Brazilian club, if you are interested in Brazilian girls dancing samba in a bikini. They serve Brazilian food too. Haven't been there for many years but I'm sure it's still there.
But there is always a lot going on in Florence, both indoor and outdoor. Check www.Firenzenotte.it for upcoming nightlife events when you are there. That's what I check when I'm there although not sure if it's in Italian only.
In Rome, L'Alibi in Testaccio - originally a gay club but mixed now.
