Any information on re-opening of Cinque Terre blue trail?

I heard from a friend that the blue trail (the one connecting the villages) closed during the winter due to storm damage, and has not (as of May 22) re-opened. Does anyone know if they have a projected opening date?

We're fine hiking on the higher trails (Alta Via), but would also like to do some of the coastal path if possible. We'll be there in a few weeks.

Hi Lola. I'm also from Seattle and will be traveling to CT in early July. I heard the same thing as you did (from an earlier post). I've emailed the CT park office (still waiting for an answer). One local CT source believes only the trail between Monterosso-Vernazza is closed.

Like you, I am trying to find out when the paths between the villages might re-open. I'll share anything up to date info I get.

Hi Bobbi---thanks for the information. And I'd love to hear what the CT tourist office has to say.

My friend who was just there (well, ten days ago now) said the whole thing was closed except from the Manarola-Riomaggiore section. But maybe they have opened more since then?

I'm just hoping we can get from Mararola to Vernazza.

Hi Lola,

I posted the same info in another post, simliar thread:

The word on the streets of CT (sources are official CT park service, Bordigo, a guide listed in Rick's CT book, and one of the tour boat operators):

All paths are open EXCEPT the blue path between Vernazza and Monterosso and this path should open in the next couple of days.

So....unless my sources aren't reliable, things appear to be ok.
