Would like to go to the boot of Italy ..the Calabria area..suggestions of things to see and do would be appreciated..we do love to drive a car around Italy..would be in the November time of year

I think in another post you mentioned October, by November most beach facilities will be closed.
Not in Calabria but close is Matera (in Basilicata).

My family comes from Calabria and we've been there many times.
Here is a list in no certain order:
1. Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia in Reggio Calabria. It house the Broni di Riace, the Riace Warriors. They were underwater for about 1500 years and took many years to restore them.
2. Le Castella Argonese in Capo Rizzutto. It's a 10th century Norman castle surrounded by lovely beaches
3. Roccia di Scilla, the rock mentioned in Greek mythology.
4. The basilica di San Paolo in Paolo.

We always stay at the Savant Hotel in Nicastro, which is very nice and central. One of my grandfathers comes from near Nicastro, so we stay at Savant when we are in Nicastro.
Calabria is like the Florida of Europe, but in November...not so much.
