Anthony Bourdain No Reservations: Sardinia

Don't miss the new episode on Sardinia*. You'll want to travel to this island branch of Italy.

It'll make you hungry, even if some of the food is a bit too native for me.

And I love Tony's Italian wife. I didn't know he had an Italian wife. He's a VERY lucky guy!

Patrick,

Thanks for the notice. I'll check the local listings on the Food Channel to see if that episode will be airing soon.

I've never seen his wife in any of his other shows. It's great that he's introducing her to the audience. The way things are looking, Clooney might have an Italian wife in the near future also.

I'm sure the Sardinia episode will pique my interest in travelling there. One more place to add to the list!

Cheers!

Ken,
Anthony Bourdain is on the Travel Channel. It seems like a lot of the Travel Channel programs involve eating.

And very little traveling......mostly shows about outrageous eating or people putting themselves through hell. Very little about actual travel. Even Samantha Brown is being seen less and less.

Carole,

Here in Canada, I've seen Anthony Bourdain on Travel & Escape, the Food Network and the also the Discovery Channel.

Unfortunately it appears the networks here only have shows from Season 4 and I believe the Sardinia show is part of Season 5.

Ken: I've never seen his wife in any of his other shows. It's great that he's introducing her to the audience.

He speaks of that in the Sardinia episode, and promises that this doesn't mean his show is becoming one of those where his wife and daughter are in every episode. But in this case, since his wife is Italian and she's spent much of her life traveling to Sardinia to visit her father's family there, it was a natural for her to be his guide in this episode.

Carole: It seems like a lot of the Travel Channel programs involve eating.

Bourdain has a comment there also, suggesting that for him, travel means going to different places to eat. And as I think about it, that's a big part of my own travel. As soon as we arrive in a Tuscan hill town, we start talking about where we're going to eat! The rest of our time there is not quite on that level of importance!

Ken, yes, it's from the new season that just premiered, but if you don't mind watching it in 10-minute snippets, it's already on You Tube. Remember that the You Tube viewer has a button that lets you expand it to use the full screen, so it's almost as good as on TV (except you miss the commercials).
