Another June train schedule question

Does anyone know if Trenitalia's high-speed schedule is posted at once when the schedule changeover happens, or if it can appear a little at a time? I know the regional train schedule past 10 June won't be complete for a while longer, but I'm asking specifically about the Freccia trains.

Here's the background. Currently, for 23 June, there are several high-speed routings listed between La Spezia and Rome (and it's been that way for a few weeks), but the schedule through 10 June includes earlier high-speed trains that aren't listed for the 23rd.

I'd much prefer an earlier train; however, the Trenitalia site says that there are only a few SuperEconomy seats left on the train that is currently the earliest on the schedule. If I book a ticket to lock in the low fare, I risk having my preferred train show up on the schedule after I've made my purchase; if I wait to see if more high-speed trains show up on the schedule, I risk missing out on the low fare if in fact the high-speed schedule is already complete.

Hi Melissa. I've faced this exact situation several times in prior years. From my experience, it is very likely that more trains will be added for June 23, and the schedule for that day will eventually look similar to the June 09 schedule. For many years, there has been one early morning train with very limited stops that makes the journey in under 3 hours; I would expect that is one of the ones that will be added. So my advice is to hold off; you are still over 3 months out. Enjoy your trip!

Hi Bob,

Yes - the early-with-few-stops train you describe is the one I'm looking for! Thank you for the insight; I'll wait and hope for the best.

They are releasing faster and international trains for sale in groupings of various size, by train number rather than date of travel. Two "batches" out so far and more to come.
