Another air conditioning question--what about Venice first week June?

It seems that some places have the choice of a free fan or pay extra for air conditioning. Should I make sure to get a place that has the air option? Thanks.

I'd suggest the air conditioning. You may be ok temp wise with windows open in early June. Mosquitos can pos a problem in sleeping areas at night. I've never really seen a window screen at the places we have stayed, so being able to keep the window closed and have the air on can keep the critters out.

In some of the apartments we have stayed in only the bedrooms were air conditioned not the whole apartment.

Just for critters ( and noise sometimes) I prefer not to rely on opening windows.

The advice given on this website re AC in Venice in June is to get it, it's been about 90% to 10% in favor of getting the AC. Reason is, unlike here, the windows don't have screens, with no AC most people feel they have to open the windows, then the mosquitos come in. AC solves those problems.
