Announced transportation strike

When booking a train ticket from Florence to Rome for 4/21/23, I noticed a message at the top of the Trainline screen that translates to "National strike. - Italio, Trenitalia, Trenord, full day; plane 00:01-24:00; highways from 22 of 20/4 to 22 of 21/4. CUB" Does this mean that the trains from Florence to Rome will not run, nor will the buses or planes? I have read messages about minimum essential travel, but can't tell if that would include a fast train between these two cites. None of the train numbers listed on the Trenitalia website as guaranteed national trains coincide with a Florence - Rome route. I contacted ItaliaRail and they indicated they had not received any notice of a strike. We have tours planned in Rome the morning of 4/22 so I would really like to get to Rome on time but leaving Florence early would result in missing events there that we have already purchased ticket to attend. Does anyone have any insight? Thank you.

Fast trains are not affected by strikes.

No idea if that strike warning is legit.
I'm sure there's a site you can check.
Perhaps Dario will help here.

Thanks Christine. That was my understanding too, but I was confused why those trainlines were listed. And the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport calendar has the railway excluded from the strike on 4/21. .

You can't see them because there is no Florence-Rome route, check on a map where Florence is: high speed trains departing from Florence have started their run either in Milan, or in Turin or in Venice. And they all depart to Rome, Naples or Salerno.

why those trainlines were listed.

Striking is not mandatory. An Union can call a strike but workers can simply decide not to join. Trenitalia's employees working on high speed trains rarely join strikes.

After booking a seat on a guaranteed Freccia train, the second safest thing to do when small Unions like CUB call for a strike is travelling with Italotreno.

Thank you Dario. I located a Frecciarossa train that looks to be guaranteed and booked that. I'm not sure how we will get to our AirB&B once we arrive at the terminal in Rome if the buses are not running, but it will be another adventure! First trip to Italy; planning it has been an experience.
