My wife and I are planning to spend two weeks in Italy for our 15th Anniversary, starting in Firenze at the Torre Bellosguardo then traveling to the Hotel Serbelloni in Bellagio. Can anyone advise on traveling from the former to the latter and any experiences staying in either of these hotels. We understand both are above average in cost and exceptional in location, but we've been saving money like squirrels for this for several years and ready to "shoot the wad". Thanks for your input!
Train from Florence to Milan
Regional train Milan to Varenna and ferry across to Bellagio. Looks like hotel is 0.2 miles from ferry dock
This site has some info on trip times and number of connections---- https://www.bahn.com/en/
I am sure others will have more suggestions
You can use the Italian National Rail company, www.trenitalia.com, website.
Station names:
FIRENZE SANTA MARIA NOVELLA
VARENNA-ESINO
Basically one change in Milan Centrale. The train from Florence to Milan is a high speed FrecciaRossa.
From Milan to Varenna, it's a Regionale (commuter) train.
From Varenna to Bellagio is a 10 min ferry ride.
But why go so far? You could go to Bellagio in Las Vegas and save a lot in time and travel money..
