Am starting to plan an interesting visit to Italy for approximately 10-14 days. Any suggestions for non-commercial places to stay/visit in countryside?

Sorry for the vague question. What I am looking for is a restful country vacation in the Tuscany or adjacent region that can offer my wife and I (and possibly the kids) swimming, biking, wine tasting (not the kids of course) in a non-commercial/non-hotel type of villa. If reasonably affordable..the better.
Hope that clarifies it a little.
