Hello everyone. We will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in Rome - 1st part of May. Can anyone suggest a nice restaurant - any tips would be greatly appreciated - first time to Italy! Thanks everyone!

LuAnn, We really need your definition of nice. Are you looking for fine dining (white table cloth)? How much do you want to spend? Where are you staying? Where do you want to eat? There are hundreds of good restaurants in Rome that fit every individual need. Mike

We will be staying at Via Principe Eugenio,60
Roma, 00185 - in all honesty I am not sure where this location wise - still trying to figure that out - a small B&B. As to nice - I don't want to have to pack black tie; however, we are really trying to make memorable - I would say under $200 for dinner. We have never been, but looking to make this the most memorable! Thank you for any insight!

That's near the entrance to Termini rail station. Are you familiar with Google Maps? Type in that address and it will take you to a satellite photo of it. If you click on the photo to the left, you can go to the street view and look around using your cursor. Google Maps and Google Earth have become indispensable tools to the savvy traveler. Good luck.

We loved the view over the rooftops and looking at St. Peter's at sunset from Cafe Ciampini's at the top of the Spanish Steps. See - http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187791-d1078136-r89570170-Ciampini_Ristorante-Rome_Lazio.html I'd ask for a table by the edge in the - "air conditioned glass room at the highest point on the terrace", which is open air, but covered from rain or too much sun, etc if air conditioning is not needed. We were down below and still had the sunset view, but I thought a table in that top area at sunset would be magical. Their website is - http://www.caffeciampini.com/ I saw they have a second location on the internet, so make sure you go to the location at the top of the Spanish Steps. Click on the English flag. I think most people walk into the Gelato area and don't discover the beautiful outdoor restaurant beyond. Luckily our Bed and Breakfast told us about it, told us to go about an hour before sunset, and made reservations for us. We took a taxi up and then after dinner we walked down thru the "roaring" crowds on the Spanish Steps and sat at the fountain for awhile before finding our way "home".
