My GF and I are thinking of spending 4 nights on the Adriatic coast in late September. Any recommended areas between these cities? Looking for nice beaches and good hotel options. We will likely be driving from Milan.

I visited Sirolo as a day trip from Senigallia and it was great--gorgeous natural beaches!

Numana or Marcelli di Numana..
Sirolo is a quaint hill town above Numana. Not exactly on the beach, but you can walk down the cliff to the (rocky) beach at the bottom (watch your step and don't break your neck).
Portonovo also has great beaches (pebbly), but it's not really a town and accommodations are few. But you can drive to the beach there from Numana.
Last year I stayed here. Gorgeous roof top terrace with pool and bar
