Ancient Rome guided walk or audioguide?

I want to take a morning tour of Coliseum, Forum, Pantheon. I have 3 teenage sons with me. Any recommendations regarding a tour vs. Rick's download? I want to avoid the lines as well as keep my sons as interested as possible? Traveling at the end of July.

Get a guide. The ruins at the Forum are not marked so it can be difficult to know if your audio guide is giving the history of the sight you are standing in front of or the one next to it. Through Eternity offers small group as well as private tours. I think they do the Forum & Coliseum together as one tour. The Pantheon would be fin with Rick's download.

We toured the Pantheon with Rick's mp3 guide & it worked out well but Angel Tours offers a free half-hour tour of the Pantheon at 7pm every day during high season (except Sundays). We happened to return to the Pantheon one night at around 7:15 & we caught a few minutes of the free tour; it seemed very informative so you might consider this as an alternative to the mp3 tour and best of all it's free! We toured the Forum & Colloseum with Through Eternity and were very pleased with the tour. The tour guide really knew her stuff & made it interesting. We also took a Palatine Hill tour with the same tour guide and because we were the only ones that signed up for that tour, it was like having our own private guide. Through Eternity is a well respected tour company and I would definitely take a tour with them again.
