We will probably be spending the heart of an afternoon in Viareggio one day next week and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. My daughter basically wants to see the Mediterranean during our time in Italy, maybe go in the water a bit. Wondering about a free beach near the main promenade, which looks like it’s worth a visit.

We will be spending late morning in Pisa and then taking the train into Viareggio. We are staying in Florence and this is one of our day trips. We will be visiting Rome, Venice, and Verona as well on this trip with her. Our daughter is mid twenties. I did see the forecast. Looks like we will be bringing our California heat with us.
