Amica Fare - midday regional train Rome to Florence in April

I read you can save 20% when purchasing the day before travel- can you use these fares on regional trains -

Do you expect tickets are generally available for early april, mid -day/ week-day trains (we could book the day before and not worry that no tickets are available?)

There a more than a few trains between Rome and Florence. So I would guess you will be fine.

However, you might want to rethink the R trains instead of the Eurostar. the ES trains will get you to Florence in about an hour and a half while the R trains take almost four hours.

Amica fares are offered on fast trains that require reservations, but not on regional trains. Regional trains cannot sell out. If all seats are taken, people are allowed to stand. There are trains that are faster than regional trains and cost less than EuroStar Italia trains.

EuroStar Italia: €36.10 standard; €28.90 Amica. 1hr39min.

ICplus: €26.50 standard; €21.60 Amica. 2hr49min.

IC: €27.60 standard; €19.60 Amica. 2hr49min.

Regional: €16. 3hr47min.
