What, if any, WWII sites remain and what would be the best way to go about seeing them?

If you go on to Google Earth you will find the Amendola Air Base it is still operational as there are planes parked on the tarmac. However, on going to Streetview and looking at the main entrance it appears to still be a military base, presumably Italian, so your chances of getting on to it are probably not very good. Certainly looking at Google Earth you can see the "shadows" of the parking bays and taxiways that used to be there and there is one area that appears to be rubble from buildings. There may be a museum or archives in Foggia who could help you with the rest of the sites.
