Amazon in Italy

Just wondering if anyone has had luck using Amazon in Italy? I signed up for the Italian version, but my browser doesn't always translate everything into English, but I can get a pretty good idea. If you've been able to use Amazon, did you have the packages sent to your hotel, AirBnb, etc.? Or did you use a pickup location?

No, but I’ve used it in Spain no problem.

On a mobile device, you can always click on the “translate button” that appears on the left edge of the navigation bar.

We have successfully had packages sent to our hotel and to an apartment. I notified the people in advance to expect the package.

Thanks Chris and Lola! This is great news. We’re going to be in Italy for about a month in May and it would be helpful to have some things delivered to our AirBnB.

I've used it in Germany and Austria with no problem.

Packages were delivered to my hotel.

Hi Frank II, Thanks for the response! Great to hear that you had no problems with Amazon in Germany and Austria. Was delivery quick like here in the US? Thanks again, Joe

I used Amazon while living in Rome and it was a different version than in the US, and in Italy I was required to enter my codice fiscale, which is a tax id number that all residents and Italians have. but presumably you will be lacking as a tourist. Also, delivery was not as quick as in the US. My orders took about a week as I recall. Not saying it will not work for you, these are just some differences to be aware of. Also, if you have Prime in the US you will not automatically have it in Italy. The good news is that the prices you see on Amazon.it include taxes.

I used Amazon.it with no issues about a tax number—it was not required. . Maybe because I was logged in as a Prime member and recognized as a US resident? As for delivery time, the wrist brace I had delivered to our hotel in Ferrara arrived in 2 days. Same with the map I had delivered to an apartment in Siena.

When I first used Amazon.de (Germany which also covers Austria) I was offered 30 days free of Prime. (I have Prime in the US but it doesn't carry over to Europe.)

I signed up for 30 days free. It offered two day delivery. And I cancelled before I was charged.

I logged into Amazon.de with my Amazon US credentials.
