Arriving via ferry at 9:15am to Amalfi and plan to go to Ravello, then walk down. June 29 or July 1st. Will the bus be super crowded and impossible to get 4 seats? Any advice on taxis up? Should we tour Amalfi first, see the Cathedral and then head up at 11am? Any advice on a good itinerary?
We were just in Amalfi and the SITA bus stop, as well as the bus itself was a madhouse. I reserved seats ahead of time for the CMS Amalfi Coast Bus. It was a small, red, open air shuttle bus. The driver was on time, shuttle was clean, and it was great to have a reserved seat. No one stands on the shuttle bus. Highly recommend! There are different pick up times, so you can determine if you want to tour the Amalfi Cathedral before or after you visit Ravello. https://www.cmsamalficoast.com/
While in Ravello, we had a great lunch at Mimi Pizzeria and Cucina. They do encourage reservations; many people without them were turned away because the place is popular and the food and service are good.
We were last to Ravello April 2025. Ate at Garden Ravello, great view, food nothing special. Then walked up to the Villa Cimbrone gardens. Tons of people even in April.
Great tip on the red shuttle bus!
Remember to buy your bus ticket at the tobacco shop, not on the bus. (Speaking from experience :) )
Tickets purchased at the tabacchi shop are for the SITA bus; NOT the red shuttle bus. Those are reserved and purchased ahead of time on the CMS Amalfi Coast website. You will show your confirmation to the driver.
