Is this a good plan for our family of 7? June 24 take the bus to Positano and then on to Amalfi town. We then hope to take the ferry back to Sorrento. I can't find information on the return ferry or price. I know the bus is cheaper but our family would like to experience both. Of course we're open to a better suggest. Thanks

The bus runs much later than the ferry. To expand your time, take the ferry there, and the bus back. Ferry and bus schedules, there's a return time highlighted for both on the page.

We took a ferry between Amalfi Town and Positano and I remember reading that you can go between Positano and Sorrento. Perhaps they are different ferries?
We loved the trip between Amalfi Town and Positano. I liked it much better than the bus. But to be fair, it was raining the day we took the bus and gorgeous when we took the ferry.

I like your suggestion of taking the ferry first to Amalfi and then the bus to Positano and back Sorrento. My concern is that the bus sounds
almost impossible to get being so crowded. We will need to get back to Sorrento. I hope I'm just over reacting

U can buy ferry tickets once you reach amalfii or positano from the beach ( all the ferry companies have a office there and we bought tickets on the spot, it cost us 14 euros/ person and return journey by ferry was very long nearly one and half hour) . There are a couple of companies with diff timing. Ferry is more expensive than a sita bus. Personally found capri easier to go to and more prettier than amalfii and positano.

It is easy to get sita bus from sorrento or amalfii as these are the starting point. Buses every half an hour from sorrento. We went to positano by bus and back by ferry.

Take the ferry from Sorrento-Positano. This gives you an earlier start. Visit Positano first, lunch in Positano. Mid afternoon. Ferry, Positano-Amalfi takes 20 minutes. Visit Amalfi and Atrani. Dinner at either, ending in Amalfi enables you to hop on the bus, as this is the start of the Amalfi transportation hub. Use the second to last bus back to Sorrento. Purchase these tickets before you leave home or if feeling lucky you can buy when you arrive in Sorrento.
