Amalfi tour from Sorrento

I am looking for a small group bus or van tour along Amalfi coast from Sorrento in late March 2018. Most tours are not operating in March. Any recommendations?

The SITA bus runs from Sorrento to Amalfi.
The views along the coast are really beautiful.
When you get to the town of Amalfi - you don't need transportation - it is a small town and very walkable.

The SITA sud buses run from Sorrento to Almalfi and along the coast and are economical. However, we were in Sorrento from Sept 21-27th and the SITA buses were packed full, very hot and the drive was not for the faint of heart. The road is full of constant hairpin turns. My niece and her husband stayed with us (they also took the SITA bus) and then another day they took the City Sightseeing bus from Sorrento bus station to the town of Almalfi for a few euros extra, but took another way that was much faster. They were guaranteed a seat and the bus had fans and well worth the extra money.

No tour is needed. Take the bus as others have written. Take another bus up to Ravello. There may or may not be ferries running between towns in March. Take your time and see what you want to see and do. It isn't far from Sorrento to the Amalfi Coast.

Check at Mondo Tours. They have shared tours for Rick Steves. The cost is €50 per person. There has to be at least 6 sign ups for the tour to run. We signed up months ago for the Amalfi and the Capri tour for this weekend. For awhile there were not 6 sign ups but now they are full.

Check tripadvisor these tours got great reviews!

Last April we took RS suggestion and hired a driver for the day. Picked us up at our hotel in Sorrento and took us on a wonderful tour down the coast. There were 4 of us and it cost us each 100 euro plus tip. We found the company on Trip Advisor but I can't for the life of me remember it right now. It might seem expensive, but it was a great way to see the coast and hear all the wonderful history at our own pace. It rained that day so we were glad to have him when and where we needed him.

I would note that a sedan would be very crowded with 4 and a driver. In a van, two people might only have the non-ocean side view. 400 Euros is high for 8 hours, but our driver was not a superb guide, just an acceptable guide.

We just returned from Italy last week. We spent 4 nights in Positano. We hired a wonderful driver to pick us up from FCO and drive us to Positano. As well as a day trip to Amalfi and Ravella. Then our return to the Naples train station. It was a bit pricey but for 4 of us it was great to not have to navigate the roads. Anytime you want to stop it's your time.

His name is Giovanni and his website is topexcursionsorrento.com

He is based out of Sorrento. I know he takes some time off in the winter but he might be available.

We used Sorrento Silver Star http://www.sorrentosilverstar.com/ It was a nice Mercedes van - just three of us. Our personable driver picked us up in Atrani and we had about 8 hrs. Took us to Ravello, Sorrento and Positano. We didn't need Amalfi since we were just around the corner. There are different tours and I think you can tailor them a bit to what you want to do. We could have thrown in another stop along the way, but the heat (early Sept) had tired us out, and it started raining before we got back to Atrani.

It was expensive - I think about 250euro (2014, so a bit fuzzy)...but when I thought - 3 people and 8 hrs - not bad. OK, I still had a hard time paying that much...I'm more of a 'do-it-myself' person...but my mom was with us, I didn't want to mess with figuring out bus schedules and waiting around for what could be a full bus (which they prob wouldn't be in March)...and our driver made a few stops at scenic overlooks along the way. And in the end, my mom said it was her favourite day of our whole trip, so it was 'priceless'.

We took the Mondo shared tour of the Amalfi Coast (stops at Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello) from Sorrento this past March. There were only 5 of us signed up that day, so we asked if they would do the tour if we paid 60 Euros each (since Mondo requires 6 minimum at 50 Euros each). They agreed and we had a great day (10 hours). Would highly recommend Mondo. We also used Sorrento Silver Star for pick up at the Naples Airport to our Sorrento hotel, and also from our Sorrento hotel to Naples Central Train Station, with stops at Pompeii (2 hours with arranged private tour) and Herculaneum (1 hour on our own). I would highly recommend Sorrento Silver Star also, although they would be more expensive than Mondo for an all-day Amalfi Coast Tour.

Just returned a couple of weeks ago; five of us stayed four nights in Sorrento. Hired a one day excursion of Amalfi drive, with driver, Mercedes passenger van, and hotel pickup-dropoff. Don't know cost; another of our group arranged the tour. "Mimmo" was our driver-tour guide. Can't imagine anyone having been better. Mimmo's company has two websites: www.amalficoasrprivatetour.com and www.smiletravelcarsorrento.com. Check them out.

We took the Mondo tour as well last week; there were eight of us and we paid $50 each...(although one couple had booked the tour through Viator and I don't know what they paid). Loved the tour in general but was a bit disappointed in our time in Positano, as the driver parked the van at the very bottom of the hill and, for many of us, the walkway up through the town was too steep to see as much of the city as we'd hoped.
