Amalfi to Salerno on a Sunday

Hi all!

We are heading to Salerno from our hotel in Amalfi on a Sunday in July. Looking at catching the train from Salerno to Milan at 11:22 (or earlier) on Italo (direct), but having a hard time finding concrete times for ferry or bus. I guess my hesitation is it's only March and we leave in July so worried at the accuracy of any info I find right now.

I see on Omio there are a couple ferries leaving Amalfi around 9 AM to Salerno. Is this an accurate site? I have not been able to access the SITA site to see the bus schedule, but I would prefer the ferry. Have read in some reviews the early morning busses on Sundays can be hit or miss, so reinforces wanting to take the ferry.

I'd like to book our train ticket at this point, but just want to make sure we have a solid plan and timeline to get to Salerno. Also open to other options from people to get to Milan if they have other ideas.

Thanks for your input!

Thanks Pat! I had searched the past year and saw some of the applicable info in your link. Also looking since my post and found directferries.com and shows the same timetable with times I saw earlier. Is it safe to assume the times I'm seeing are accurate and solid for summer at this point? I'm not sure why I can't access the bus schedule online but I wanted to see those times as well.

I may be stressing too much, but want to be able to book our 11:22 train to Milan soon to lock in prices. I'd assume with a train reservation after 11 we should be good, either ferry or bus (if weather is bad). Thanks!

Thanks Kathy! Both very helpful. I’m going to book our train to Milan and then if need to adjust it. Well book one that allows changes. I’d guess the frequency of both ferry and bus will be similar to or greater than the current winter schedule.

Looks like maybe 10 minute walk from the ferry dock to the train station so if we’re in by 10:00 should be plenty of time to work our way up to the station and not rush too much.

Thanks again!

I am from Salerno!

Ferry time table will come up later on. I think there should be a ferry by that time of the day.
Be mindful though to book the correct ferry, that brings you to the port that is the closest to the train station.
Molo manfredi / stazione marittina is 30/40 min walk and it's the farthest harbor
Piazza della concordia / Molo masuccio is the closest to the train station.

this is a link showing the two harbor and the train station

Thank you, good info to have! Assumed they all came to the same port area.
