Amalfi in November?

My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy in late November and were planning to be on the Amalfi Coast on Nov. 26th and 27th. We've checked with a few of Rick's recommended hotels, though, and found that they are either closed then or not sure whether or not they will be open. I know November is the off season, but does Amalfi shut down in November? Should we rework our itinerary and not go to Amalfi?

I have been in that part of S Italy in November and doubt that you will have a problem finding a room when you get there. You can search for one after you arrive. If I were you, I would prefer to find a room at a nearby town and avoid the costly rooms in the AC.

November is THE rainiest month in Campaia...so..will probably be damp and chilly...not my first choice of a month to visit....but not my last either! There will be things open...all the major tourist sites (Pompeii, Paestum, etc.) and local restaurants and shops...but many of the tourist shops will be closed for the season, as well as some hotels. I happen to really LIKE the Amalfi Coast off-season...and I'll be there myself for the month of November :-)
