Amalfi in April - hotel recommendations?

We’re going to Italy for our honeymoon - spending a few days in Rome, a few in sorrento but really want to stay a majority of the nights in Amalfi. Would love sea views, somewhere close/walking distance to town (not renting a car) and would love the hotel to have a pool (even tho some sites say their pools are closed in April? Is this true?)

Any recommendations that don’t break the bank? We’ve never been so looking at the map, we can’t figure out the best area to stay.

I loved staying at the Villa Annalara about a 5 minute walk from the Duomo. April in Amalfi is not swimming weather - just too chilly. Though there’s no pool, there is an enormous terrace overlooking Amalfi town and the sea. The hotel is intimate with about 7 large well appointed rooms and is owned by two brothers whose guests are their priority. I’ve stayed there twice and look forward to another visit. The town of Amalfi is my favorite town on the coast in which to stay since it’s a transportation hub for buses and ferries.

You will be hard pressed to find an open pool in April.
I use google maps to pinpoint location. You don't want to be right at the water because that is where the buses all congregate, but you may not want a steep walk (I will put my plug here for a steep walk, as long as you do not have any physical issues, a 20 minute uphill walk can often result in a really lovely accommodation!).
I use Booking.com--you can search by location, price, many other amenities.

Philip - I had seen that hotel recommended by someone else as well, but it’s sold out for the dates we’ll be there. It seems quite far away from the coast line though? Or else I’m just terrible at reading google maps.

I am finding that most places don’t open their pools until May. I’m from California so I’m used to the cold pacific - if the afternoon were in the high 60s and sunny, I wouldn’t mind a cool dip. But I guess we’ll have to cross that off our must have list and focus on something else. We want to be closer to the water. Is there any specific area that’s the best - just for walking around, eating and enjoying the sites. The 2 days previous to Amalfi, we’ll be in sorrento where we’ll go to Pompeii and Capri. We want Amalfi to be lazy and romantic (May go to positano for the day), also wouldn’t mind a hike if the weather permits.

Pools are generally not heated in Italy, and though you may hit 65-70 temps, the costal waters will be between 59-62.
