My wife and I will be stopping in Naples on a cruise in June and want to do the Amalfi Drive with a private car or hire a taxi/guide for the day as opposed to getting on a tour bus. Any suggestions on the availability of hiring taxis or guides that may be at the port when the ship arrives will be appreciated.

Steve. I have not done this but would offer the following thoughts:
Whenever you take a tour not organised by your ship there is always the risk they will sail without you if you are late back. This probably won't be an issue but if there is an accident on the Amalfi Coast Rd the traffic can bank up a long, long way!
If you want to hire a car and driver I would book it in advance. this way you can make sure you are with a reputable company and that you are not trying to haggle prices on the day.
