Amalfi Coast Transportation

Hello!
I am traveling to the Amalfi Coast for part of my honeymoon during the first and second week of September. We are starting in Taormina for 3 nights and then we will be staying in Sorrento for 5 nights. One of the days in Sorrento, we had hoped to visit some of the towns along the coast. We also have a dinner reservation for 8:00pm in Positano. My initial plan was to try to ferry to Amalfi from Sorrento to start and potentially make our way to Ravello to spend the morning/early afternoon, then attempt to ferry from there to Positano in time to explore some and make our dinner reservation. For the trip back to Sorrento, I was planning on trying to get a bus or at worst case a taxi, since that will be later in the evening.
I was hoping for any advice in obtaining ferry/bus tickets or specific transportation companies to look for? Or any general tips about traveling in the area.
And any insight into whether this plan seems feasible or if it is too ambitious.
Thank you!!

Yes, only Taormina in Sicily for this trip. Staying at Atlantis Bay. The beginning of the honeymoon so more of the “relax and lay on the beach” portion after the stress of wedding planning!

And thank you for the schedules!! That will be very helpful!

Expect roads to be crowded and traffic to be slow. Expect lines for buses during the day. If you aren't getting on at a terminus (Sorrento, Amalfi, Salerno), know that the number of passengers that can get on is limited to the number of passengers who get off if the bus is full - and expect that the bus will be full. Check if the ferry line you choose takes advance bookings. Buses don't. To get to Ravello eschew the bus and take the Amico Shuttle, book in advance. You may want to go one-way and take the scenic walk back down, depending on your schedule.

I think the earliest you can realistically get to Ravello is around 11:30am. In Ravello, you need a minimum of four hours to visit the two villas and walk around a bit. You can then walk down from Ravello to Amalfi and take the ferry to Positano. You could get to Positano by around 6:00pm at the earliest assuming you don’t spend any time at all exploring Amalfi.

If you explore Positano and have dinner, you’re probably looking at the last bus or an expensive taxi back to Sorrento.

I’m not sure what you’re planning to do for five nights in Sorrento, but I would spend at least two or three of those nights in Amalfi instead and enjoy the Amalfi Coast at a more relaxed pace.
