We will be staying in Maoiri in June and would like to spend a day visiting the twins on the Amalfi Coast. I hear bad things about the crowded buses, but they are cheap and run frequently. And I also understand there is a 24 hour pass. The ferries look great, but it would cost us $120 to do what we want. For that price we could rent two scooters. Has anyone rented scooters on the Amalfi coast? Are cabs readily available? Probably will choose a combination of travel modes. Suggestions?

What do you intend to use the car for if only staying in Maoiri for a couple of days? It appears that you are only renting it to get from airport to Maoiri and back?
As above, Vespa rental is not recommended unless one is a VERY experienced driver, and not even then for navigating the coast in high-season traffic.

Yes, we are renting a car to get from Rome CIA to Maoiri and back, with a few stops along the way. Originally, I was going to drive along the coast, but after seeing a few videos I decided against it.
