Traveling by car from Rome over the Easter weekend, looking for a hotel, for 2 adults and 2 young adults, checked on Hotel Desiree, emailed and faxed, no response, are things closed through Feb. Please advise, want two rooms, reasonable pricing. Heading to Perugia from there, Venice and Cinque terra.

realize it may be easter vacation for italians. I would call them with a phone card and ask them for a recommendation.

Yes, hotels may closed for the season right now, which would explain no response. And because you're looking for Easter weekend, you probably ought to expand your search. Try suggestions on Tripadvisor or Venere.
